The Safety Nest · Home Alone

Terms of Use

Effective July 6, 2026 · Applies to The Safety Nest: Home Alone iOS app

The most important term: this app teaches general safety skills through practice scenarios. It is education, not emergency services, and not a substitute for adult judgment, supervision, or professional advice. In a real emergency, call 911.

Using the app

By downloading or using The Safety Nest: Home Alone, you agree to these terms. The app is intended for children ages 9 to 12 with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Decisions about a child's readiness to be home alone, and about local laws that may apply to that, belong to the parent or guardian alone.

Educational content

Missions present general safety practices drawn from established family-safety curricula. They are written for a general audience and cannot account for every household, neighborhood, or situation. Parents should review the content, use the discussion prompts in the parent area, and adapt what the app teaches to their own family rules.

Ownership

Changes

These terms may be updated as the app grows; material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
